The programme is designed to provide an adequate knowledge of management and administration of ports and shipping operations. It is a two year programme made up of four semesters of course work and one semester of Industrial Experience.

WHY CHOOSE THE COURSE?
Students who complete their training in Martime Studies can be employed as Navigators by the Merchant Navy. The tasks include navigating duties, supervising cargo operations in ports and maintaining the safety equipment. This qualification is recognised internationally and provides the opportunity for young Nigerians to sail as a Navigating Officer, and ultimately Ship’s Master, world wide.
WHAT HAPPENS ON THE COURSE?
Graduates are equipped to pursue careers in in Shipbroking, Marine Insurance, Freight Forwarding, Logistics and Distribution, as well as Arbitration. They may also further their education by proceeding on HND or degree studies in Business Administration/Management, Transportation Management, Ports and Shipping Management.
