Marine Engineering

Dive into the mechanical and technical operations of marine vessels.

Program Overview:
The National Diploma (ND) in Marine Engineering at ANIMT introduces students to shipboard engineering systems and operations. The curriculum includes marine diesel engines, electrical systems, thermodynamics, and maritime safety. This hands-on program is designed to build practical engineering knowledge for working in engine rooms on ships or at marine facilities.

Admission Requirements:

  • Five (5) O'Level credits including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and one other science or technical subject obtained at not more than two sittings.

  • Minimum JAMB UTME score as prescribed by JAMB for polytechnics/institutes.

  • Successful completion of the institute’s screening/interview process.

Program Duration:
ND: 2 years

Tuition and Fees:
ND: ₦150,000 per session
(Fees are subject to review annually. Payment plans available.)

Certification Awarded:
National Diploma (ND) in Marine Engineering

Career Opportunities:
Graduates can work as marine engineering cadets, engine room assistants, ship maintenance technicians, or junior marine engineers onboard ships and in dockyards.
